Fishing at Holne Chase 

There has long been a tradition of fishing at Holne chase due to the spectacular River Dart which runs through the estate as it careers towards the sea, and some of the finest Salmon and Sea Trout fishing in the country can be had here. The Holne Chase Beat comprises over one and a half miles taking in seven pools including the famous Chase pool.

The best of the season starts in May when large Sea Trout arrive, and thereafter until the end of September. Summer Salmon and Grilse tend to be caught from June onwards.

Fishing is available to both residents and non-residents although rights are limited and it is advisable to contact us and book in advance to avoid disappointment.

  Dog Friendly Holne Chase

Our Tibetan Spaniel Wizz (pictured right) personally supervises day to day running of the cottages and ensures that all facilities are up to scratch for her doggie friends old and new. She loves taking time out from her busy schedule to personally welcome each and every one of our visitors. 

Wizz by name and Wizz by nature she is naturally vivacious and an incorribable flirt and now has paw-pals all over the world and after a long hard days work can usually be found in her favourite chair dreaming about happy times spent showing them around her patch. Many of her friends have sent  holiday snaps for her to remember them by.

We do ask that dog owners are responsible and make sure that their dog's vaccinations are up to date before visiting us.  They will also need to make sure that their dogs are protected from Ticks, especially in the damper months.
