The course was originally a 9 hole layout which has now been extended to 18 holes. The original 9 holes (laid out about 100 years ago) are on the moor which means that the Greens are fenced off and animal droppings are “casual water”!
The new 9 holes are on converted pasture land, laid out by Donald Steel about 6 years ago.

Situated in an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and running along the stunning coastline of Bigbury Bay, Thurleston is a fantastic location to play golf.
The course is a mix of links and cliff-top terrain with the latter providing breath-taking views. It is ideal for holiday golf – not too severe, with quite generous fairways but the wind, of course, can blow with a vengeance.
